Unfortunately,
there are countless numbers of local parents
who are unable to send their children to school
due to very low income-rates. Instead, their
children often have to perform difficult manual
labor from a very young age. Another major obstacle
is that most of the rural population does not
understand the value of education. VSN has designed
the Child Sponsorship Program in Nepal with
the vision and hope that small contributions
of money and supplies can benefit and even change
the lives of many poor and needy children and
their communities.
From its own resources, VSN has been supporting
12 children for their education and has linked
other nine financially very poor and orphan
children to sponsors from different countries.
Currently, VSN and other sponsors have been
sponsoring 21 children in Nepal.
However, we are always looking for more help.
For as little as US $20, a month a child can
be supported and given a chance of a better
future.
