Anna Van Gogh from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 is here in Nepal with a heart full of purpose
As part of her world tour, Anna chose Nepal not just as a travel destination, but as a place to give back. She is currently volunteering at our Women Empowerment Center, where she is teaching English and supporting women to build confidence and improve their communication skills.
After this, Anna will continue her journey of service at the Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities, helping differently abled children with their daily activities at a daycare center — sharing patience, care, and compassion where it matters most.
Having arrived from Thailand, Nepal became a meaningful stop in her global journey, blending travel with impact. Once her volunteering work is complete, Anna will continue exploring the world, carrying these experiences with her wherever she goes.
Thank you, Anna, for choosing kindness, connection, and service along your journey.
Your time and energy are already making a difference.

"Some moments change you forever, and this was one of them.
During my two-week medical elective in Pokhara, Nepal, I had the incredible privilege of holding this precious newborn just moments after delivery. As an intern with Volunteer Society Nepal, I came here from Czech Republic hoping to learn about healthcare in a different setting, but what I`ve gained goes far beyond textbooks and clinical skills.
Working alongside the dedicated team at Pokhara Hospital has shown me that medicine truly is a universal language. Despite cultural differences and language barriers, the commitment to bringing new life safely into this world remains the same everywhere.
These two weeks have been filled with long shifts, challenging cases, and countless learning opportunities. But it`s the quiet moments like this one, holding a brand new human being, that remind me exactly why I chose this path. The trust that mothers place in us, the teamwork required in the delivery room, and the pure joy of a successful birth transcends borders.
To the staff at Pokhara Hospital who welcomed me with open arms and shared their knowledge so generously, thank you. To Volunteer Society Nepal for making this experience possible, I`m forever grateful. And to this little one and their family, thank you for letting me be part of your story.
Nepal, you`ve captured a piece of my heart." - Natalie
