Four weeks. Countless smiles. One unforgettable goodbye.

Today we said an emotional farewell to Anna Van Gogh from the Netherlands, who dedicated the past month to volunteering at the Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities (CCID).

In just four weeks, Anna became part of the CCID family — sharing patience, warmth, creativity, and genuine care with every child she worked with.

This group photo says it all: connection, trust, and a bond that goes beyond borders.

Thank you, Anna, for your kindness, your energy, and your heart. You will always have a family here in Nepal.

Last day at CBIA School… and it hit harder than expected.

Jessie from the Netherlands saying goodbye to the girls who stole her heart. Hugs that didn’t want to end. Smiles mixed with tears.

Three weeks of teaching, laughing, learning names, sharing stories — and suddenly it’s time to leave.

This is the part no one talks about when you volunteer:
You arrive as a stranger.
You leave as family.

Nepal leaves a mark you carry home.

A day in the life of a volunteer in Nepal 🇳🇵
Morning chai with a host family, classrooms full of smiles, lessons shared beyond language, simple lunches, meaningful work, sunset reflections, and stories under the same sky.
Not a vacation. A connection. A purpose.

Anna Van Gogh from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 is here in Nepal with a heart full of purpose

As part of her world tour, Anna chose Nepal not just as a travel destination, but as a place to give back. She is currently volunteering at our Women Empowerment Center, where she is teaching English and supporting women to build confidence and improve their communication skills.

After this, Anna will continue her journey of service at the Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities, helping differently abled children with their daily activities at a daycare center — sharing patience, care, and compassion where it matters most.

Having arrived from Thailand, Nepal became a meaningful stop in her global journey, blending travel with impact. Once her volunteering work is complete, Anna will continue exploring the world, carrying these experiences with her wherever she goes.

Thank you, Anna, for choosing kindness, connection, and service along your journey.
Your time and energy are already making a difference.
