Description

If your time is truly budgeted, then this is the trek for you. You still get a warm welcome into the wild for a hike into some rich & natural beautiful settings…where the flowers bloom like a blanket garden for miles on end, they light up the forests that you hike through & your spirits begin to soar to the heavens…& your imaginations are energized.

Aptly called ‘the little Annapurna circuit’Ghorepani – Poon Hill Trekking -10 Days lovely trek is the shortest one of its kind in the naturally beautiful Annapurna Region. The highest point you go up to is approx 3200m & there are absolutely no worries about altitude sickness…just simply hike at your own pace & enjoy the natural beauty of your surroundings. This trek is an all-time favorite among most trips because of its easy-going elevations & the natural landscapes set amidst conventional villages with thriving cultures & traditions of yore.

The Ghorepani Poonhill trails wind into paths along clean water streams that could be heard flowing & goes on into rich forests displaying different flowers of which the Rhododendron is Nepal’s national flower; this trek will be ideal for people who just love being close to nature & the naturalness of beauty that can only be found in the wild…& nowhere else.

Once you walk across the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola River, a meandering stone path awaits you as you trudge through pert villages & cultivated farms along the Annapurna Trail. Along these clear paths, you will get the first glimpses of the beautiful Machhapuchhre Mountain (Fishtail) that’s a standout symbol of the vibrant junction town that’s Pokhara. One distinct characteristic of this trek among several of them is the grand vistas from the famous Poonhill in the buildup to sunrise; you must begin well before sunrise for the one-hour climb, where you will see a breath-taking spectacle as the sun’s first rays break through the darkness, emitting sparkling rays that spill over the peaks of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri and other famous mountains of the Annapurna range, spreading its halo shades of red, orange and pink-maroon on the white snow that gives the views a masterpiece in displays of how divine nature can be; viewing sunset at twilight Poon Hill is a spectacle that remains etched in one’s memories for ages.

Some of the best pictures on the planet come from this area. From Ghorepani, trekkers come down to the port village of Ghandruk inhabited by the ethnic Gurung community of this area. This little village is known for its culture & neat traditional houses set amidst fabulous landscapes. We hike down the rock stone steps to Birethanti & Nayapul where our vehicle will be on standby to take us back to Pokhara. It’s wise to know the best seasons for trekking in the Annapurna region are spring (February to late April) and autumn (late September to late November). However, during the winter there are very few tourists in this area. Some people prefer this time of year, as they enjoy the sceneries of snow and the quiet environment of fewer people on this route that is actually crowded at other times of the year except the monsoons.
