Volunteer Society Nepal (VSN) provides opportunities for individuals to engage in social work internships in Nepal. By interning in Nepal, participants can gain valuable insights into the diverse challenges that social workers face in the country and the strategies they employ to address them. Social Work Interns will have the chance to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of social welfare and outreach programs, as well as learn how to effectively navigate different cultural values. In Nepal, like many other developing nations, women and children often bear the brunt of limited resources. Homelessness is prevalent, and while efforts are being made to relocate individuals to shelters and disabled children, these facilities often suffer from inadequate funding and staffing shortages. As a Social Work Intern, you will contribute to the overall functioning of these centers, develop recreational programs for the children, provide assistance with school work, and serve as a mentor. Having an international internship experience on your resume demonstrates your self-motivation, dedication to the field of social work, and ability to adapt to various circumstances. Social Work Intern working with disabled children in Nepal will have the opportunity to assist with health education, teach English, and nurture their creative talents through activities such as arts and crafts, painting, and games. Other voluntary tasks may include helping with cooking, doing laundry for the children, washing dishes, performing regular household chores, and providing homework assistance.
